Witchwood (Single)

by Gandalf's Fist

Our annual "festive" track for 2020 - delve back into the outskirts of the enchanted wood of "Winter's Mourning" where young men still dare to travel for the bewitching sounds of the beautiful sorceresses dwell there still...

Down by the trees, where the elderwood grows
there's a figure staring right into your soul
A cry on the breeze as the north wind blows
and the shadows falling long across the snow
you fear what you feel,
and it feels as though you just cannot go on
and all the old tales that say,
that when young men walk this way
well, they're walking down a path of no return...
... and a lesson from the Witchwood to learn...

Well the town over-hill, where the brass band does play
well it's far away from where tonight you'll dream
and the music will play, sweet the song it betrays
as the lady of the forest leads the way
Draw the shapes in the sands,
borne of the alchemist's hands
as the ice that grips the forest melts away
here in the undergrowth lies,
the man that helped winter die
as his bones become the harvest of the beasts...
...and the Witchwood would gladly receive...
