"The hull clanged and rattled as the chamber slotted into the dock of the station…
We steadied ourselves… and waited for the doorway to fix into place.
As it opened, it appeared to me - the great, vast openness of the docking bay…
a huge, circular room with emergency lights still crackling overhead,
and the walls - unseen behind layers of ‘creepers’ that had taken over
and crawled towards the ceiling in desperation…
And in that moment... I knew… that we were alone.
Without thought, we plunged into the maze of corridors....
The walls seeming to writhe with life… each footstep echoing and doubling,
creating ghosts of our very selves around every corner.
To my tired eyes, the walls seemed to close in as I ducked below
hanging creepers and treaded slowly through the deep green light.
Air, growing hotter... More claustrophobic… Stifling.
After a while, an occasional entrance would open to one side
or the other, overgrown with plants… the rooms – dark beyond comprehension
and looking sterile, empty, abandoned."

high-ceilinged and quiet, with a conspicuous stillness that suggested there was
something different about this place… something more.
The lights were buzzing and breaking now…

Casting the room in a now-familiar dark green glow.
And then, there it was, on the far wall… the main console,
lights blinking like a beacon in the centre... the source of our signal
and no more corridors to walk… Our salvation… or so I believed."
